Configuration settings
Deem Insight is tuned through a list of settings — mail, security, integrations and system behaviour. You find them under System administration → Configurations.
Each setting ships with a default. You only need to set the ones where your installation differs.
Reading the list
Section titled “Reading the list”| Column | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Name and key | What the setting is called, and the key it is stored under |
| Default | The value used when you have not set anything |
| Value | Your value, when you have set one |
| Info | A lock for settings that hold a password, and an information icon where help is available |
When you override a setting, the default is shown struck through. That way you can see at a glance which settings have been changed from standard, and what the standard was.
Settings that hold a password always show * instead of the value.
Hover the information icon in the Info column to read what a setting does without opening it.
Changing a setting
Section titled “Changing a setting”Open the setting to edit it. Where help is available it is shown in a read-only Help box in the dialog, explaining what the setting controls and what a sensible value looks like. Security settings have this, because a wrong value there has consequences.
Changes take effect as soon as you save. No restart is needed.
Clearing a setting
Section titled “Clearing a setting”Clearing the value returns the setting to its default.
Some settings have a default that is not empty, and for those, blanking the field cannot express
“nothing”. Those settings accept the value none to mean switch this off entirely. Where this
applies, it is stated in the setting’s own help text.
