Perspectives

Deem Integrator is organised into perspectives — full-screen workspaces, each dedicated to a particular kind of task. You spend most of your time in the Data Orchestration perspective building pipelines and workflows, while other perspectives handle metadata, files and more.

Switch perspective by clicking its icon in the left-hand toolbar, or with the keyboard shortcut listed on each perspective’s page. Use Ctrl+Shift+↑ / Ctrl+Shift+↓ to cycle through them.

Deem perspectives

In addition to the standard perspectives, Deem Integrator ships two extra perspectives for working directly with databases and files:

Database Development	Ctrl+Shift+D	Browse database connections, inspect tables and views, preview data and run SQL.
File Manager	Ctrl+Shift+M	A two-pane file manager for copying and moving files between locations (local disk, Insight file storage, S3 and other VFS locations).

Note

Both perspectives work on resources you have already configured elsewhere: the Database Development perspective lists the database connections defined in your project metadata, and the File Manager works with any VFS location your project can reach.

The search panel

Below the perspectives sits a panel shared by all of them, and it has one purpose: search. Open it with the Search button at the bottom of the left-hand toolbar. The panel opens with an empty, focused search field and your recent searches in the dropdown, so you can start typing straight away. Clicking the button again hides the panel.

Results are grouped by section, type and object, with the matches for the selected object shown on the right. Open jumps to the object the match was found in.

Ctrl+F still opens the quick search popup for jumping somewhere fast. Show all results there hands the query to this panel in a tab of its own, so several searches can be kept side by side.

Note

Deem Integrator has no terminal built into the window. To get a command line at a folder, use Open terminal here in the File Explorer context menu — it opens your own system terminal.
